It really couldn't be easier!

You place a bid on an item. If your bid is the highest unique bid on that item, you get the item for the amount you bid.

What?

OK, let's look at it again:

You see something you like on OnlineBidz.com.au. A new iPod Mini, for example... You now need to think "what is the highest possible amount I can bid that NO ONE ELSE will bid".

So, you might choose to bid two dollars for example.

If your bid is the highest, and no one else placed a bid for the same amount, then your bid is the highest unique bid!

At the end of the auction, if the highest unique bid is still your bid, then you will be contacted. You get the BRAND NEW iPod Mini for only TWO DOLLARS!

So what's the catch?

There isn't one!

How do you manage it then?

Well, we make our revenue through the administration fee charged for each bid you place. Payment is only accepted through Paypal.

Like we said, it's as simple as that!

To Register

On the Home page, click on the “register” button.

Fill in the required information including a VALID email address.

A system-generated password will then be emailed to you.

Once you receive this password, go to the homepage again, and login to your account.

Now click on the “my info” link.

You can now change your password to one of your choosing by entering a new password where it says “password”, and enter it again where it says “confirm”.

Now click on the “save” button.

While in this section, you can now add credits to your Online Bidz account, and use them for bidding on items.

To Add Credits for Bidding

Click on the Paypal icon (you must be logged in).

You will be re-directed to the Paypal home page.

If you already have a paypal account, log in and enter the amount of credits that you would like to put into your Online Bidz account. (Most customers enter $20 or $30 at a time). We ask everyone to keep their accounts full with a minimum of $10 at a time. Otherwise 50% or more of the funds raised end up going to Paypal instead of the charity. By topping up your account with $10 or more, the Paypal fees are kept below 5% and that helps us to help others.

If you do not already have a Paypal account, you can either create a Paypal account, and then follow the procedure above, or, if you prefer not to have a Payal account, you can still use the Paypal site to add credits to your Online Bidz account by making a credit card purchase.

Once you have added credits via the Paypal site, click on the link to return to the Online Bidz site. Your credits will automatically be deposited into your Online Bidz account.

You are now ready to start bidding !!!


To bid on an item:

Look through the items to find one or more that you are interested in.

Click the “bid now” icon and enter the amount that you want to bid. (Remember that there is a “maximum bid price” on each item. The software will not allow you to bid over this amount.)

Click on the “confirm bid” icon. You will be prompted to enter your email address/username and password if you are not already logged in (if you do not already have an account with Online Bidz, you will now be prompted to make one).

If you have enough credits in your account, your bid will be processed, and the bid fee for that item will be deducted from your Online Bidz credits at that time. The actual winning bid will not be deducted from your Online Bidz credits until the auction is complete and it is confirmed that you have the highest unique bid. Please make sure that you always have enough credits in your account to pay for whatever bids you make or you could end up losing your item due to lack of credits.

The software will always advise you as to whether or not you are the current highest unique bid.

If you are not the current highest unique bid, you have the opportunity to place additional bids. (*There is a maximum number of bids allowed per person per individual item*) The software will not allow you to place more than the maximum allowed bids per item.

Please note that the “bid fee” amount listed on each individual item is deducted from your Online Bidz account for EACH bid that you make.

Each item has a “maximum number of bids required”. Once this number has been reached, the auction will automatically finish.

You will be notified via email whenever your bid status changes, to give you the opportunity to place another bid.

Now, let’s see what happens if Carol decides to place another bid because hers is not the highest unique bid. Let us say, for example, that Carol places a new bid in the amount of $0.32

Carol has now place a bid which is the same amount as John’s bid. This means that now both John and Carol’s bid of 0.32 is “not unique”.

Therefore, GEORGE now moves into position of having the “highest unique bid”.

So, as you can see, just because you are the highest unique bid “today”, you can be bumped out of that position at any time.

Alternatively, although you are not the “highest unique bid” at this particular time that can easily and quickly change.
